Norman DeVere Cook, age 79, of Indianapolis, formerly of English, Petersburg and Jasper, passed away at 4:25 p.m., on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born October 9, 1938, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Clifton and Virginia (Richey) Cook. Norman grew up in English, Indiana where he graduated from High School and met his wife of 48 years, Trilla “Marlene” (Linton) Cook. He served in the United States Army and worked as a printer at his print shop, Cook’s Printing, located in Petersburg and Princeton. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bill Bauerly; and two sisters, Wanda Lane and Cleo “Cookie” Simpson.

Norman is survived by two sons, Timothy (Tracy) Cook of Fishers, Ind. and Scott (Julie) Cook of Cookeville, Tennessee; one daughter, Kelly Cochren of Bloomfield, Ind.; the children’s mother, Trilla “Marlene” Cook of Cookeville, Tennessee; two brothers, Melvin Cook of Indianapolis, Ind. and Jack Cook of Birdseye, Ind.; and by six grandchildren, Matthew, Morgan, Mason and Emma Cook, Tim and Michael Cochren.

Memorial services for Norman Cook will be held at 12:30 p.m., E.S.T., on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial of his cremains to follow at the Birdseye Cemetery in Birdseye, Indiana. Reverend Michael Cochren will officiate at the service and military graveside rites will be conducted by the V.F.W. Post #2366 Memorial Detail.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., on Saturday, December 2nd, the day of the memorial service. Condolences may be shared online at: www.nassandson.com
