Ben F. Sunderman, age 89, of Huntingburg, formerly of Velpen, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018, at his residence.

He was born April 13, 1928, in Duff, Indiana to Albert and Meta (Hilgeman) Sunderman; and married Belva Marlene Hellman on January 12, 1952, in Huntingburg.  Ben was a retired carpenter; member of Salem United Church of Christ, Huntingburg Fraternal Order of Eagles and Holland American Legion; and was a former Army National Guardsman.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Sunderman, who died on August 29, 2013; and four siblings, Bob, Allen and Roy Sunderman, and Shirley Donnerman.

Ben is survived by his niece and caregiver, Martha (Dale) Nalley of Coe, Ind.; his good friend, Ruth Russell of Owensboro, Kentucky; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Ben Sunderman will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Velpen.  Pastor Mark West will officiate at the service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, the day of the funeral.  Condolences may be shared at:  www.nassandson.com
