Marcella “Sally” Rees, age 93, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 3:08 p.m. on Sunday, August 19, 2018, in St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper, Indiana.

Sally was born in Jasper, Indiana, on July 5, 1925, to Bernard and Clarissa (Steffen) Kreilein.  Her first marriage was to Robert “Cotton” Gunselman on  October 26, 1949, and he preceded her in death on October 20, 1970.  She then married Clarence Rees on November 29, 1980, and he preceded her in death on June 18, 2006.

Sally worked as a clerical secretary in the superintendent’s office for Greater Jasper Consolidated School Corporation for many years.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Jasper D of I, St. Ann’s Society, American Legion Auxiliary, V.F.W. Auxiliary, Psi Iota Psi, and the Jasper Women of the Moose.

She enjoyed playing bingo, fishing, and doing arts and crafts.  She also spent many hours volunteering for various organizations.

Surviving are two sons, John (Marilyn) Gunselman, Jeff (Sharon) Gunselman, both of Jasper, IN, four grandchildren, Andrew and Luke Gunselman, Alli Spence and Hannah Gunselman, one great granddaughter,  Claire Gunselman, two sisters,  Louise (Levines) Schitter, Jasper, IN, Florence (Delbert) Angerer, Jasper, IN, two brothers, Dennis (Virlee) Kreilein, Jasper, IN, Kenneth (Marge) Kreilein, Celestine, IN.

Preceding her in death besides her husbands are three sisters, Anna Mae Messier, Alberta Kreilein, and an infant Joan Kreilien.

A Mass of Christian burial for Marcella “Sally” Rees will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

A visitation will be held from  3:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 24, 2018, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana.  The Jasper D of I and St. Ann’s Society will pray a rosary at 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home and the American Legion Auxiliary will hold a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Parkinson’s Association, or to a favorite charity.
