Joanne D. Blocker, age 91, of Huntingburg, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2019, at her residence.

She was born July 16, 1928, in Huntingburg, Indiana, to Marion and Lillian (McMillen) Dearing.  Joanne was a factory worker; and member of Salem United Church of Christ, the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3335 Auxiliary, and past president of the V.F.W. Post #2366 Auxiliary.  She was preceded in death by her mother and father; two sons, Randall L. Kemp and Dereck W. Blocker; three brothers, Jack Dearing, Jerome Dearing, and Ralph “Bud” Dearing; and five sisters, Jean Ingle, Fern Tanner, Dede Tanner, Nancy Meyer, and Janice Oser.

She is survived by her son, Darin S. Kemp of Huntingburg; her daughter-in-law, Amy D. Blocker of Huntingburg; by (8) grandchildren and (5) great-grandchildren.]

Funeral services for Joanne Blocker will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.D.T., on Saturday, August 17, 2019, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg.  Pastor Mark McDaniel will officiate at the service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home from 3:00-7:00 p.m., onFriday, August 16th.  A V.F.W. Auxiliary vigil service will be held at 6:30 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
