Alan R. Schepers, age 64, of Celestine, Indiana, passed away at 5:00 a.m. on Monday, December 20, 2022, at home. 

Alan was born in Celestine, Indiana, on October 5, 1958, to Roman and Leona (Fromme) Schepers.  He married Phyllis Hopf on May 9, 1981, in Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana. 

He was a 1977 graduate of Northeast Dubois High School. 

He worked at Stens in Jasper for several years. 

Alan was a member of St. Isidore Parish in Celestine, Indiana, and the Celestine Community Club. 

He enjoyed cutting firewood, going to races, going to the grandchildren’s sporting events, and spending time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren. 

Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Schepers, Celestine, Indiana, two sons, Nathan Schepers and Daniel Schepers, both of Celestine, IN, one daughter, Rachel (Aaron) Reckelhoff, Birdseye, IN, and two grandchildren, Logan and Lexi Reckelhoff, six sisters, Sr. Mary Ann Schepers, O.S.B., Ferdinand, IN, Dorothy Lents, Loogootee, IN, Roselyn Brinkman, Ferdinand, IN, Bertha (Jerry) Merkley, Jasper, IN, Henrietta “Susie” Baglan, Jasper, IN, and Virlee Harris, Jasper, IN, one brother, Jerry (Diana) Schepers, Newburgh, IN, brother-in-law, Wilfred Brinkman, Jasper, IN, one sister-in-law, Annette Schepers, Celestine, IN, several nieces and nephews, and four godchildren. 

Preceding him in death are his parents, one sister, Darlene Brinkman, one brother, Bob Schepers, two brothers-in-law, Leonard Brinkman and Pete Baglan, one niece, Angela Buschkoetter, and one nephew, Wayne Hopster. 

A Memorial Mass for Alan R. Schepers will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, in St. Isidore Catholic Church in Celestine, Indiana.   

A memorial visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at the church on Wednesday

Memorial contributions may be made to the Celestine Fire Department or the Celestine Community Club.
