Carol A. Meyer, 69, of Ferdinand, passed away on Monday, August 19th at Scenic Hills at the Monastery in Ferdinand. Carol was born April 7, 1955 in St. Meinrad to Oscar and Marie (Oeding) Gessner. Carol married William “Bill” Meyer Jr. on July 7, 1995 in Tennessee.

Carol was a member of Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church. She enjoyed camping, traveling, playing cards and watching her grandkids play sports.

Carol is survived by her husband, Bill Meyer; two sons, Jesse (Andrea) King of Ferdinand and William “Bill” Meyer III and his wife Michele of Virginia; five grandchildren, Hudson and Kale King, Alex, Alexis and Zoey Meyer; two brothers, Frank (Marie) Gessner of Ferdinand, Tony (Donna) Gessner of St. Meinrad; three sisters, Martha (Jerry) Hempfling and Paula (Tom) Vonderhide both of Ferdinand, Clara (LeeRay) Temple of St. Meinrad; brother in-law, Roch Gehlhausen of Jasper; two sister in-laws, Joyce Gessner of Celestine and Bonita Gessner of Jasper. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Marie Gessner; two brothers, Allen and Mark Gessner; a sister, Marlene Gehlhausen.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 21st in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday at the church from 8:00 AM until time of services. Online condolences may be shared at www.becherfuneralhome.com
