Kathleen Yvonne “Kay” Woods, age 88, of Huntingburg, Indiana, formerly of Markle, Indiana, passed away Monday, October 7, 2024, surrounded by her family at The Waters of Huntingburg.

She was born July 13, 1936,in San Jose, California, to Paul and Evalyn (Farr) Kreider; and was united in marriage to Richard Earl Woods on June 27, 1958, in Springfield, Ohio. Kathleen received her master’s in nursing from The Ohio State University.  She worked until age 72 as a Registered Nurse, nursing instructor, and occupational health nurse.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Huntingburg and Markle.  She was a prayer warrior and Godly woman, involved in multiple Bible Study groups and the Berean ministries. She did missionary work in Tanzania.  She was a tennis instructor and member of the Red Hat Society. Kayhad an incredible love for her family and others, and never knew a stranger. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Richard Woods, who passed away April 24, 2006; son, Kipp Woods; brother, Stephen Kreider; and sister, Paulette “Vicky” Dugan.

Kathleen is survived by three children, Jannette Woods-Reynolds of Apex, North Carolina, Cheryl (Jason) Yager of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Dr. Rachelle (Dr. Ryan) Sherer of Huntingburg, Indiana; two sisters, Rachel (Jack) Byers of Escondido, California, and Julia (Fred) Haney of Springfield, Ohio; twelve grandchildren, Gabe (Aline) and Nate Reynolds, Courtney and Adam(Lanae) Woods, Breanna (Joseph)Sero, Dr. Jake (Rebecca), Emily and Grant Yager,Evalyn, Wyatt, Dorothy and Ruth Sherer; and four great-grandchildren,  James, Miles, Claire, Leonidas.
