Adeline Marie Hartwick, 89, of Huntingburg, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Serenity Springs Senior Living at Northwood in Jasper.

 She was born December 8, 1935, in St. Meinrad, Indiana, to William “Bill” and Mayme (Hedinger) Werne; married Allen Edward Hartwick on April 18, 1953 at St. Meinrad Archabbey.  Adeline was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Huntingburg, St. Mary’s Ladies Sodality and Ladies Quilters.  She worked as a Nurses’ Aide at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Huntingburg for 40 years.  Adeline was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Allen Hartwick, on September 27, 1997; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Johnson on March 31, 2011; two sisters, Mary Rose Haas, Florence Hagedorn; four brothers, Gilbert, Linus, Jerome and Arthur Werne.

 She is survived by two children, Pam (Jeff) Ward of Cannelburg, Todd (Desiree) Hartwick of Huntingburg; nine grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. 

 Funeral services for Adeline Hartwick will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 9:00 -11:00 a.m. at Nass and Son Funeral Home prior to the service.  Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
