Vic B. Striegel, age 85, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away surrounded by family at 5:09 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Deaconess Midtown in Evansville, Indiana.

Vic was born in Celestine, Indiana, on February 23, 1940, to Oscar and Anna (Knies) Striegel. 

He was a 1958 graduate of Jasper High School.

He worked for Hasenour & Sternberg operating heavy equipment for 34 years, and then operated his own business, Vic’s Crane Service in Jasper.

Vic was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana.

He was a faithful blood donor and donated blood every eight weeks.  He enjoyed spending time at Erny Sheet Metal and Denny’s Auto.

Surviving are three sisters, Betty Burger, Jasper, IN, Lorraine Buechlein, Jasper, IN, and Gloria Williams, Ooltewah, TN, 27 nieces and nephews, and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are two sisters, Mary “Mae” Hasenour and Lucille Wigand, and three brothers, Robert, Edward, and Kenneth Striegel, two nieces, Nancy Friedman and Judy Atwood, and four nephews, Allen Hasenour, Roger Wigand, Joe Buechlein, and Scott Striegel.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Victor B. Striegel will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 2, 2025, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, and one hour before services at the church on Tuesday from 9:00-10:00 a.m.  The parish will pray a rosary at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home on Monday.
