John H. Stoll, age 76, of Vincennes, formerly of Gentryville, passed away on August 12, 2025, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville.

He was born on October 7, 1948, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to Walles and Dorothy (Rabe) Stoll. He married Doris Sherman on February 1, 1986, and was a 1966 graduate of Enid High School. Together, John and Doris were very active in teaching Sunday School in various churches around the area.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doris Stoll; stepfather, James Parrish; sister, Georgene Tah; and stepson, Greg Sherman.

John is survived by two stepchildren, Cheryl Sherman Stone Daub of Vincennes, Indiana, and John Sherman of Seattle, Washington; two sisters, Esther Francis of Enid, Oklahoma, and Kathleen (Steven) Flowers of Moreland, Indiana; two grandchildren, Daniel (Taylor Richards) Stone of Bruceville, Indiana, and Kaela Stone of Vincennes, Indiana; one great-granddaughter, Riverlyn Stone; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for John H. Stoll will be held at 1:30 p.m. CDT on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Rainey Funeral Home in Dale. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home. The family asks that contributions be made to your favorite charity in John’s name. Condolences may be shared online at www.raineyfuneralhome.com.
