Duane A. Temple, age 70, of Ireland, Indiana, passed away at 7:45 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at home.
Duane was born in Jasper, Indiana, on December 27, 1954, to Oscar and Genevieve (Schuler) Temple.
He was a 1973 graduate of Jasper High School.
He was a lifetime turkey farmer and in addition was a grain farmer. He worked for Kimball as a supervisor for 27 years, and then drove a recycling truck for the County of Dubois for 17 years.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana, and the Jasper Moose.
Duane enjoyed going out to eat, loved telling old time stories and jokes, making others smile, and loved animals, especially his dogs and spending time with them. He never liked to set idle, and always loved working outdoors, whether it be gardening, working on equipment or some other job.
Surviving are two sons, Eric Temple, Jasper, IN, and Ryan (Pam) Temple, Jasper, IN, one grandson, Elliott Temple, one step granddaughter, Ava Schiefer, and one brother, Myron (Donna S.) Temple, Jasper, IN.
Preceding him in death are his parents and three siblings, Shirley (Bob) Hoffman, Kathy (Leroy) Witte, and an infant, Mary Louise Temple.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Duane Temple will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Mass time at the church on Wednesday.
