William R. “Bill” Firestone, Jr., 72, of Holland, passed away at 5:30 a.m., on December 19, 2021, in Evansville.

He was born August 31, 1949, in Evansville, to William R. Firestone, Sr. and MaryruthBroshears; and married Ruth D. Blemker on June 19, 1976, at the Oakland City University Chapel.  Bill was a 1967 graduate of Central High School.  After graduation, he attended Lockyear College, where he graduated with a degree in Business.  He served with the United States Army during Vietnam.  Bill was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Evansville and the Holland American Legion Post #343.  He loved watching Western movies and being with his grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Bruce Shaver.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth D. Firestone of Holland; one son, William R. (Fiancé, Kate Fest) Firestone III; three siblings, Bryan Shaver of Chicago, Bonnie Troup of Nashville, TN and Barbara Shaver of Baltimore, MD; and by two grandchildren, Dylan and Kayden Firestone.
