Cletus L. Rexing, 93 of Dale passed away at his residence Friday October 23rd at 4:20 PM CDT. He was born December 19, 1921 in St. Joe, Indiana (Vanderburgh County) to Theodore & Elizabeth (Niemeier) Rexing. He married Florence Gries on June 1, 1946 in St. Wendel, Indiana.

Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Florence Rexing, Four sons, Larry Rexing and wife Jemma of Lafayette, Steven Rexing and wife Ellen of Dale, Gerald Rexing and wife Gloria of Cummings, GA., Erwin Rexing and wife Jane of York, South Carolina, Three daughters, Joan Effinger and husband Charlie of Plainfield, Brenda Rexing of Indianapolis, & Connie Rexing of Anderson. 1 son-in-law, John Payne of Dale. 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. 1 brother, Herman Rexing and wife Mary of Evansville. Cletus was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Barbara Rexing & Marilyn Payne, 5 brothers, Sylvester Rexing, Barthol Rexing, Francis Rexing, Joseph Rexing and Clarence Rexing.

Cletus was a member of Mary Help Of Christians Parish in Mariah Hill, St. Vincent DePaul Society, Mariah Hill Y.M.I., He received the Brute’ Society Award in 1995 through Mary Help Of Christians Church, and the Saint Teresa Award in 2010. He was a farmer for 41 years and retired from Holland Dairy after 20 years. He enjoyed playing cards and watching game shows.

Funeral services 12:00 noon CDT Wednesday October 28th in Mary Help Of Christians Church in Mariah Hill. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8:00 PM CDT Tuesday and after 11:00 AM CDT Wednesday at the church in Mariah Hill. Becher Funeral Home, Ferdinand is in charge of all arrangements.
