Geneva Elnora VanWinkle Raven, age 95, of Lincoln City, Indiana, passed away at 8:01 a.m., on Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at The Waters of Huntingburg nursing center in Huntingburg.

Geneva Raven_edited-1She was born February 18, 1921, in Boonville, Indiana to Willis H. and Louisa Frederica (Fenneman) Eifler. Geneva worked for General Electric, where she retired, and then for the National Park Service at the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial. She was a member of Central Christian Church in Huntingburg, was a graduate of Dale High School, and loved to go bowling. Geneva was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter VanWinkle; her second husband, William “Bill” Raven; one daughter, Ruth VanWinkle; one brother, Oliver Eifler; four sisters, Mildred Farris, Edna McDaniel, Catherine Adams and Jeanette Kelley; and one grandson, Walter Ray VanWinkle, Jr.

She is survived by:

One daughter and son-in-law,
Ruby (Frank) Adkins Turner of Utica, Kentucky;
One son and daughter-in-law,
Walter Ray (Kathy) VanWinkle of Dale, Indiana;
by (15) grandchildren, (11) great grandchildren and (6) great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Geneva E. VanWinkle Raven will be held at 11:00 a.m., E.D.T. (10:00 a.m., C.D.T.), on Friday, August 26, 2016, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at the Buffaloville Cemetery in Buffaloville, Indiana.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 5:00-9:00 p.m., E.D.T. (4:00-8:00 p.m., C.D.T.), on Thursday.
