Robert “Rob” L. Schnaus, age 89, of Ireland, Indiana, passed away at 11:05 p.m. on Friday (October 21, 2016) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana.

robert-schnausRob was born in Ireland, Indiana on January 29, 1927 to Albert and Cecelia (Dick) Schnaus. He married Rosemary Sermersheim on May 3, 1947 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana.

He was a United States Army Veteran, serving post World War II in London, England for eighteen months.

Rob was a lifetime farmer.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, a past member of the St. Mary’s Parish Council, the Ireland K of C, the Ireland Sportsman Club, the American Legion Post #147, and he was a former Director of Patoka Valley Feed.

He enjoyed farming, golfing, spending time with family, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and I.U. Basketball Fan.

Preceding him in death are one daughter, Geralyn Brosmer, one grandson, Todd Brosmer, and five brothers Sylvester, Virgil, Edward, Albert Jr., and Larry Schnaus.

Funeral services for Robert “Rob” L. Schnaus will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday (October 25, 2016) at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The American Legion Post #147 will conduct military gravesite rites.

Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time on Tuesday (October 25, 2016) at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center, or to a favorite charity.
