Marjorie Mae Lewis, age 95, of Huntingburg, passed away at 6:30 a.m., on Friday, February 24, 2017, at Brookside Village in Jasper.

She was born May 30, 1921, in Mariah Hill, Indiana to Christian and Emma (Arnold) Michel. Marjorie graduated from Huntingburg High School in the Class of 1939; worked as a custodian at the Huntingburg United Methodist Church where she retired; was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg, the Ladies Sodality and the Daughters of Isabella in Jasper; enjoyed creating ceramics and baby quilts; and loved following her children’s and grandchildren’s activities. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Lewis, who died March 24, 1993; and by one great grandchild.

She is survived by three daughters and three sons-in-law, Carol “Jeannie” (Don) LaGrange of Washington, Linda (Lou) Seng of Jasper and Marcia (Kent) Butke of Huntingburg; one son and daughter-in-law, Denny (Cathy) Lewis of Jasper; by (15) grandchildren and (33) great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.S.T., on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. The funeral Mass will be celebrated by Reverend Fr. Ryan Hilderbrand.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 4:00-8:00 p.m., on Monday. A parish rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m., Monday evening, at the funeral home.
