Alexa “Lexi” Layne Mattingly, age 16, of Holland, Indiana passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

She was born May 8, 2000, in Jasper, Indiana to Gene and Traci (Roberts) Mattingly. Lexi was a sophomore student at Southridge High School where she was a member of the basketball and tennis teams, student council, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She was also a member of the Holland United Methodist Church, U.M.Y.F., and 4-H Wranglers. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Frederick Mattingly.

Lexi is survived by her parents, Gene and Traci Mattingly of Holland; brother, Payton Scott Mattingly and sister, Ella Grace Mattingly both at home; grandparents, Cheryle and John Daunhauer of Holland, Stan and Judy Roberts of Holland, and Mrs. Frances Mattingly of Vancleave, Mississippi; and by aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services for Alexa “Lexi” Layne Mattingly will be held at 12:00 noon, E.D.T., on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at the Holland United Methodist Church in Holland with burial to follow at the Holland United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pastor Keith Chanley will officiate at the service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 3:00-7:00 p.m., on Wednesday; and also at the Holland United Methodist Church from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, on Thursday.
