Karen R. Brown, age 65, of Huntingburg, Indiana, passed away at 2:25 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper.

She was born February 8, 1952, in Ireland, Indiana to John and Martha (Lannan) Seger. Karen was a 1970 graduate of Birdseye High School. She was united in marriage to Roger D. Brown on September 25, 1971 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville. Karen worked in her home as a babysitter. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Ladies’ Sodality and a Eucharistic Minister. She was a former bowler on the Thursday Night Women’s League and Sunday Night Couples League. In recent years, she enjoyed playing cards, quilting and taking annual trips with her friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Jim and Ricky Seger.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Brown; daughter, Jennifer (Guadalupe) Sandoval of Huntingburg; a son, Jeff Brown of Jasper; two sisters, Earlene Stevens of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Brenda Colber of Birdseye; three brothers, Jeff (Nelda) Seger of Winamac, Indiana, Gary (Michelle) Seger of Jasper, Pat (Vicky) Seger of Bretzville, Mike (Diana) Seger of Jasper; a sister-in-law, Marsha Seger of Bretzville and by six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Services for Karen Brown will be held on Monday, June 12, at 10:00 a.m., E.D.T., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may call for visitation on Sunday, from 2:00-8:00 p.m., E.D.T., at Nass and Son Funeral Home. Condolences may be shared with the family online at: www.nassandson.com
