Russell Herbert Grant, age 88, of Santa Claus, Indiana, passed away at 1:25 a.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand, Indiana.

Russell was born in Plainfield, NJ, on September 7, 1928, to Andrew H. and Rosella M. (Chickering) Grant. He married Martha Ann “Marty” Koch on October 16, 1976 in Vincennes, IN.

Russell was a U.S. Navy WWII Veteran and worked as a field engineer for Cincinnati Milacron.

He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish – St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Santa Claus, Indiana and the Santa Claus American Legion.

He enjoyed playing golf, travel, and woodworking.

Surviving are his wife, Martha Ann “Marty” Grant, Santa Claus, Indiana and step children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were three children and one sister.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Russell Herbert Grant will be held at 11:00 a.m. (CDT) on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Santa Claus, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Santa Claus American Legion will perform military gravesite rites.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. (CDT) service time at the church on Saturday, June 24, 2017.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or to a favorite charity.
