Frank M. Waninger, 74 of Ferdinand passed away Friday July 28th at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville. Frank was born December 6, 1942 in Spencer County to Max and Frances (Kleiser) Waninger. He married Hilda Mae Rickelman on June 27, 1964 in Saint Ferdinand Catholic Church.

Frank retired from Foertsch Construction Company. He was a Sergeant in the National Guard and a member of Ferdinand American Legion Post 124. He was a member of St. Ferdinand Parish, a member of the Antique Tractor Club, and Spencer County Memorial Forest. He enjoyed farming, gardening, deer hunting and enjoyed being with family and friends. He especially liked John Deere Tractors. Frank was an organ & tissue donor.

Surviving are his wife, Hilda Mae Waninger, two daughters, Tina Beier of Ferdinand and Jane Ann (Greg) Beier of St. Henry. Five grandchildren, Michael, Keith, Jarrod, Derrick Beier & Nicole Bromm. Two great-grandchildren, Carter & Liam Beier. Three sisters, Anna Mae Peters and Pauline Gogel of Fulda, Agnes Witte of Huntingburg. Four brothers, Clarence (Betty) Waninger of Ferdinand, Dennis (Carol) Waninger of Fulda, Norman (Betty) Waninger of Huntingburg, and Robert (Diana) Waninger of Lamar. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Edgar & Alvin Waninger.

Funeral services for Frank M. Waninger will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday in Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church. Burial to follow with military graveside rites provided by Ferdinand Legion Post 124 in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8:00 PM Tuesday and 7 to 9:30 AM Wednesday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
