Keith A. Recker, age 54, of St. Anthony, Indiana, passed away at 1:11 a.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2017, at home.
Keith was born in Huntingburg, Indiana, on December 31, 1962, to David Sr. and Beatrice (Braunecker) Recker. He married Wanda Fleck on October 22, 1983, in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
Keith worked at Jasper Engines and Transmissions, where he retired after 35 years.
He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish – St. Anthony Campus, where he had previously served on the Parish Finance Committee and Parish Council, and was an Usher. He was also a member of ABATE, and the St. Anthony Community Center, where he served as Past Director for six years.
He had a passion for riding motorcycles, especially his Harley Davidson, helping others, and spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Wanda Recker, St. Anthony, IN, three daughters, Ashley Schwenk (Chad), Dale, IN, Natalie Kamman (Nathan), Huntingburg, IN, Krista Thomas (Josh) St. Meinrad, IN, four grandchildren, Lexie and Makenzie Kamman, and Grayson and Lawson Schwenk, his father and mother, David Sr. and Beatrice Recker, St. Anthony, IN, mother-in-law, Nora Fleck, Kyana, IN, step-grandmother, Carolyn Braunecker, Jasper, IN, one sister, Trish Hoffman (Jeff), Jasper, IN , and two brothers, David Recker Jr., St. Anthony, IN, and Mark Recker (Lois), Dubois, IN.
Preceding him in death are his father-in-law, Ralph Fleck, maternal grandparents, Anthony and Elizabeth Braunecker, and paternal grandparents, Leo and Marie Recker.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Keith A. Recker will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 28, 2017, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. -7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 27, 2017, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at the church on Monday. St. Anthony Parish will pray a rosary at 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Divine Mercy Parish, the St. Anthony Community Center, the St. Anthony Volunteer Fire Department, the I.U. Simon Cancer Center, or to a favorite charity.
