Robert H.L. “Bob” Huddleston, age 95, of Holland, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018, in the emergency room of Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

He was born August 17, 1922 in Henry County, Indiana to Clyde and Edith (Warton) Huddleston.  Bob worked as a railroad agent for Norfolk & Western Railway where he retired.  He served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of World War II; was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Holland, V.F.W. Post #2366 and the Holland American Legion; and was a ham radio operator/enthusiast.  Bob married Emily June Shiflett on February 18, 1948, in Waterloo, Illinois; she passed away in 1978.  He subsequently married Lottie Grace Hilderbrand on November 16, 1987, in Muncie, Indiana; she passed away in 2009.  Bob was also preceded in death by five siblings, Peggy Crawford, Tom, Clyde Jr., Gale and Dale Huddleston.

He is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law, Roberta (David) Meyer of Holland and Carol (Gary) Meyerholtz of Huntingburg; one son, Tom Huddleston of Holland; by (7) grandchildren, (11) great grandchildren and (4) great-great grandchildren.

In Huntingburg, Indiana:

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 16th.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 17th at the Nass & Son Chapel in Huntingburg with Pastor David Darling officiating.

In Dublin, Indiana:

Friends may call for visitation at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Dublin from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 18th.  A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday afternoon, at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Zion’s Lutheran Cemetery in Pershing, Indiana where a memorial detail will conduct military graveside rites.
