Robert L. Meyer, age 91, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 3:33 p.m. on Monday, April 9, 2018, at Cathedral Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana.

Bob was born in Haysville, Indiana,  on February 15, 1927, to Leo and Amanda (Kieffner) Meyer.  He married Joan Albert on May 8, 1954, in Ferdinand, Indiana.

He was an United States Army Veteran and served during the Korean War Conflict.

He was a banker for 35 years at Dubois County Bank, which is now Old National Bank.

He was a charter member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jasper, a life time member, past commander and bookkeeper of V.F.W. Post #673, American Legion Post #147, Jasper Moose, Jasper Civitan, Jasper Masonic Lodge, and he was a Shriner.

He enjoyed collecting stamps and coins, and he loved to fish.

Surviving is his wife, Joan Meyer, Jasper, IN, five children, Bruce (Lynn) Meyer, Emerald Isle, NC, Donna (John) Hellman, Velpen, IN, Cheryl Blackwell, Carmel, IN, Brian (Jane) Meyer, Fishers, IN, and Kurt (Heather) Meyer, Westfield, IN, 15 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two sisters, Dorothy Mae Seitz, Jasper, IN, Barbara Ann (Bob) Lottes, Loogootee, IN, and one brother, John (Sandy) Meyer, Cocoa Beach, FL.

Funeral services for Robert L. Meyer will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April, 13, 2018, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.  The V.F.W. Post #673 will conduct military gravesite rites.

A visitation will be held from 2:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at the church on Fridayfrom 10:00-11:00 a.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church  or a favorite Charity.
