Ruth S. Beckman, age 94 of Jasper, passed away at 12:56 p.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at the Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper.

She was born at Jasper, Indiana on November 1, 1923 to Carl and Loretta (Schmitt) Sermersheim.  She married Edward A. Beckman on May 21, 1946 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. He preceded her in death on November 3, 2004.

Ruth was a homemaker and had worked for general Electric for 22 years.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the St. Anne Society. She was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.

Surviving,

One son, Thomas (Becky) Beckman, Carmel, Indiana.

Four grandchildren, Chris, Candy, Molly and Kelli.  Also eight great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death besides her husband are two brothers, Marvin Sermersheim and Cletus Sermersheim.  Four sisters, Rita Vaughn, Alma Foster, Bernetta Rasche and Luella Sermersheim.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 2, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

Visitation will be held two hours before service time on Friday, November 2, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
