Dorothy A. Bachman, age 80, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 4:19 a.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at home.

Dorothy was born in Schnellville, Indiana on October 7, 1938, to Leo and Veronica (Seger) Lueken.  She married Eugene Bachman on May 30, 1959, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville, Indiana.

Dorothy was a 1956 graduate of Birdseye High School.

She was a homemaker, a child care provider for many years, previously worked at Leed’s Selling Tools.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper and the Ladies Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mother.

She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband Gene Bachman, Jasper, IN, two daughters, Ann (Jeff) Reutman, Jasper, IN, Marla Bachman, Jasper, IN, two sons, Allen (Rita) Bachman, Bretzville, IN, Mike (Kathy) Bachman, Jasper, IN, three grandchildren, Alex and Kelli Reutman, and Maria Bachman,  three sisters, Therese Ernst, Ferdinand, IN, Marie (Robert) Dall, Ferdinand, IN, Janice Hurst, Huntingburg, IN, one brother, Ray (Aileen) Lueken, Celestine, IN.

Preceding her in death, are three sisters Rosemary Lueken who died in infancy, Eileen Schuler and Rosalee Scherle, and two brothers, Louis and Ralph Lueken.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy A. Bachman will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, with entombment to follow in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum in Jasper.

A visitation will be held from 3:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana and one hour before services at the church from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Wednesday.  The Ladies Sodality will pray a rosary at 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home on Tuesday.
