Juanita J. Hoffman, age 87 of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 4:55 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Cathedral Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana.
Juanita was born in Washington, Indiana on March 12, 1932, to Roy and Ollie (Cole) Gray.  She married Raphael J. “Cotton” Hoffman in Bloomfield, on May 23, 1953.  He preceded her in death on March 19, 1995.
Juanita attended Washington High School.  She retired from Jasper Desk, where she was employed for many years.  Following retirement, she worked part-time at the Hampton Inn in Jasper.
She was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper.
 
Juanita and Cotton met on a skating rink floor and they were accomplished roller skaters who loved waltzes and foxtrots.  She was an avid bowler in her younger days and very proud of her bowling trophies.  Juanita enjoyed playing cards, particularly cinch, for decades with family and friends.  She took great pride in her yard work and she was a lifelong, diehard St. Louis Cardinals fan.
 
Surviving are one daughter, Debra Enlow (Mike), Jasper, one granddaughter, Shalane Niemeier, Evansville, niece Arlene Langford (Mark), Odon, IN, and many other nieces and nephews spanning three generations.
 
Juanita was the last of thirteen children, preceding her in death were three sisters, Georgia Lee, Fern Davis, and Mary Russell, and nine brothers, Royce, Clifford, Dennis, Maurice, Dimple, Bob, Gene, Ardith, and Lowell Gray.  Lowell perished on a submarine in the South Pacific during WWII. 
 
A Mass of Christian Burial for Juanita J. Hoffman will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.
A visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, and from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. service time at the church on Wednesday.
