Larry Wayne Sparrow, age 85, of Huntingburg, passed away at 5:35 a.m., Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Northwood Good Samaritan in Jasper.
He was born January 13, 1938, in Evansville, Indiana, to Kenneth Monroe and Mary (Berning) Sparrow. He married Carolyn H. Buse on October 13, 1962. Larry was a veteran of the Army during the Vietnam Era, he served for 23 years where he was 1st Seargent, and made his career as a metrologist before retiring in 2000. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, W. Kenneth Sparrow.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sparrow of Jasper; two sons, Mark (Rebecca) Sparrow of Huntingburg and Michael (Carol) Sparrow of Cincinnati, OH; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service for Larry Sparrow will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.D.T., Monday, July 24, at Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. With burial to follow at St James Cemetery in Holland with military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 2366 Memorial Detail.
