Donna J. (Helmerich) Davis, 77, of Huntingburg, passed peacefully at 5:00 a.m., on Thursday, October 12th, 2023, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.
She was born August 20, 1946, in Evansville to Gerald and Mildred (Schroeder) Helmerich. Donna was a 1964 graduate of Huntingburg High School and married Duane Davis on June 29, 1974. She was a seamstress and designed and sewed wedding dresses for two of her family members. She loved her family and enjoyed cooking meals for them made with her special ingredient – love. Donna also loved animals and was always there for those who needed some love or snuggles. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Duane; brothers, Rick and Greg Helmerich.
She is survived by her son, Gerald Davis of Katy, Texas; a stepdaughter, Donna Newman of Buchanan, Michigan; brothers, Sherrel (Gail) Helmerich of Nashville, Indiana, Phil (Brenda) Helmerich of Huntingburg; sister-in-law, Ruth Helmerich; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Donna Davis will be held at 11:00 a.m., E.D.T., Thursday, October 19, 2023, at St. Paul UCC in Holland with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Pastor Debbie Roe will officiate the service.
