Derek Scott Catt, 46, of Winslow, IN, passed away March 7, 2025 at his residence. He was born February 2, 1979 to David and Georgia (Trayler) Catt in Washington, IN. Derek worked in construction for Empire Contracting in Evansville, IN for 26 years. His favorite thing to do was spending time with his family, children, and grandchildren and being outside.
Derek is survived by his wife, whom he married on December 21, 2024, Michelle Catt of Winslow; son, Dalton (Storm) Howard of Velpen; daughter, Ashton Catt of Velpen; step daughters, Kayla Whittington and Jay Redmond; grandchildren, Addison, Archer, and Abell DeJarnett and Gabrielle; his father, David Catt; sister, Christy (Duwayne) Yates of Winslow; brother, Kevin Catt; his sister-in-law, Denise Catt; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Preceding Derek in death are his mother, Georgia Catt and his brother, Tony Catt.
A Celebration of Life for Derek will take place at 4 PM EST on Friday, March 21, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg with visitation time from 2 PM EST until service time. Pastor Denny Wiscaver will be officiating and burial will follow at Iva Cemetery in Otwell, IN. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
