Marion Lee Murphy, 78, of St. Meinrad, passed away Wednesday, April 19th at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper. Marion was born January 5, 1939 in Marietta, Kansas to George and Mary (Aurert) Murphy. He married Joyce Aders on October 24, 1970 in Las Vegas.

Marion was a Fireman for the Las Vegas Fire Department. He enjoyed golfing and trap shooting. He was a member of the Huntingburg Country Club and the Jasper Gun Club.

Marion is survived by his wife, Joyce; two sons, Leroy Wickham Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO., Kent Wickham of Chadron, NE.; two daughters, Victoria Zamrotto and Christine Scott both of Las Vegas; one brother, Darrell Murphy; one sister, Eilena Goodwin; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Marion was preceded in death by a son, Shane Wickham and five brothers, Robert, Dick, Merel, DeWayne and Thomas Murphy.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday in St. Meinrad Church.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 3-7:00 PM CDT at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand and Thursday from 9:00 AM CDT until service time at the church.
