Linda VanWinkle, 73, of Ferdinand, passed away Sunday, October 7th at Core Nursing and Rehab Center in Dale. Linda was born June 13, 1945 in Perry County to Hilbert and Lorine (Wagner) Schlachter. She retired from Masterbrand. Linda loved animals and fishing. She is survived by a son, David (Ruth) VanWinkle of Birdseye; a daughter, Michelle Taylor of Oriole; one sister, Betty (Charles) Buechler of Adeyville; eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Linda was preceded in death by a son, Rick VanWinkle and a grandson, Tyler Cundiff. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 AM CDT in St. Meinrad Catholic Church. Visitation will be at the church Friday from 9:00 AM CDT until time of services. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
