NWS Confirms at Least One EF-1 Twister Ahead of Tuesday Surveys
The National Weather Service has issued an update on the severity of Monday’s storms. Preliminary surveys on August 7th were conducted and found EF-1 tornado damage in Dubois and Orange Counties. At this time, it’s unknown if this damage is part of one long tornado track or multiple smaller tornadoes.

Spencer County Coal-To-Diesel Opposers Breathing Easy: REC Construction Permit Invalidated
Based on the IDEM evaluation the REC construction permit is expired and no longer valid. If REC wishes to conduct further construction related to air permitting requirements they must obtain a new permit to construct and operate. Indiana Code requires REC to file a petition for administrative review and submit all required documents within 18 days of the mailed notice on August 1, 2023.
