A funeral mass for David Sitzman will be held at 11:00 a.m., E.D.T., Friday, August 18th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Megan Weddle Sentenced for Her Child’s 2021 Injuries
The investigation that led to Weddle’s sentence stems from November 2021, when the woman’s 3-week-old infant was presented at Memorial Hospital with head trauma. Hospital staff informed the Indiana State Police and Indiana Department of Child Services of the child’s injuries and noted that the baby had subdural hematomas with fractured bones.
Police-Involved Shooting at Jeffersonville Apartment Complex: ISP Investigating
Once the suspect was confirmed deceased, law enforcement cleared the entire apartment complex for safety. No other residents or officers were harmed in the incident that remains under ongoing ISP investigation at the request of Jeffersonville Police Chief, Kenny Kavanaugh. Dubois County Debris Removal Sites Extend Operations
Due to high demand, opening dates at two debris removal sites have been extended. Haysville Park South Field, on the North side of the road past the mill, and the corner of 960 East and State Highway 56, will be available for debris removal from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. until Wednesday, August 23, 2023. Please note that the Dubois removal site is now closed.
Indiana Attorney General Secures Permanent Revocation of Clark Co. Funeral Licenses
The State Board of Funeral and Cemetery Services heard evidence in this matter earlier this month and has unanimously voted to permanently revoke both Randy Lankford’s Director’s license as well as the license of his funeral home.
Storm Surveys Complete – 6 Twisters, 1 NWS Record
The National Weather Service has concluded their surveys of local damage from recent storms. As of our last report there were four confirmed tornadoes on the ground in our area. Final assessments note five EF-1 twisters along with a single EF-0 tornado, straight line wind damage, and microburst damage.
