Medication Take-Back Event Results

Organizers counted a total of 255 local participants at the Jasper State Police Post and St. Anthony and Ireland Fire Department collection sites on Saturday, April 22nd.

Tri-Cap RSVP Director, Rachel Trabant, announced 419.1 pounds of discarded medications along with recycled cardboard and plastic bags. Each of these efforts reduces contamination of our water system and reduces risks for potential, accidental overdose or ingestion of outdated or incorrect medication.

Ferdinand Kiwanis American Flag Project Continues

Following 195 American flags placed throughout the town of Ferdinand last year, The Ferdinand Kiwanis is gearing up for their 2023 Avenue of American Flags project. The organization places flags at residences and businesses on six flag holidays including Memorial Day, Flag Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day through September 11th, and Veteran’s Day.

Local Students Welcomed to Statehouse as Page Participants

Northeast Dubois High School students Akayla Eichmiller and Savannah McIntosh, along with Noah Dilger of Heritage Hills High School and Pike Central Middle School’s Isaiah Harvey spent the day touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor, and interacting with Senator Messmer. The program offers 6th-12th grade students the unique opportunity to receive one excused absence and serve as a Senate Page one day per legislative session.
